Applicability of the Ideal Gas EOS
The Ideal Gas EOS is a good approximation for gases at :
1. High temperatures ( usually above 0oC ) and...
2. Low pressures ( usually 1 atm or less )
A substance at a temperature of 0oC and pressure of 1 atm is said to be at
standard conditions
.An ideal gas at standard conditions has a molar volume of 22.415 L/mole.
Similarly for the AE System, at standard conditions of 32oF and 1 atm an ideal gas has a molar volume of 359.05 ft3/lbmole.
